Discover your family history
We meet on the last Thursday of each month in Magherafelt Library at 2:00 pm. There is no charge for use of the Library.
Learn how to access the many sources that can help you trace your ancestors. Use library facilities and gain from the experience of others.

Group members include people just beginning to look at their family history and some who are more experienced. We all work together to share our knowledge and skills in developing and enhancing our individual family trees. We also try to gain some insight into how our ancestors lived. Members may bring their own laptops/iPads/tablets or may use computers provided free of charge by the Library.
Members are encouraged to give updates of their own research at our meetings. These can be very brief or occasionally longer presentations can help inspire others and provide new sources of information.
Visits are organised to places such as the Public Records Office for NI (PRONI).
New members are always welcome to join the Group. All you need are an interest in family history, a notepad, a pencil (and an eraser!), your Library NI card — and enthusiasm.
Membership of Library NI is free and if you are not already a member, you may join at the Library.
Note: Parking, including for people with disabilities, is available close to the Library.
